Viz department featured
on KBTX-TV news

The visualization lab at Texas A&M’s College of Architecture and its high standing with Hollywood animation studios was highlighted in a report on KBTX-TV June 12.

“We’ve had someone from Pixar actually refer to Texas A&M and the Viz Lab as a gold mine,” said Glen Vigus, senior visualization production specialist at the Viz Lab, in the report.

Students who have gone through the program have been contributing to big-budget animated fare for years—movies such as “Kung Fu Panda,” “Ratatouille,” and “Finding Nemo” have been enhanced by Viz lab former students.

The report is sprinkled with scenes from the lab and quotes from faculty, staff and students.

The KBTX story, as well as animated shorts by Vizzers, is available at http://www.kbtx.com/home/headlines/19605349.html#.
