Construction science grad takes reins
as community development director

Tom Elgin, who received a Bachelor of Science in Building Construction from Texas A&M’s College of Architecture in 1980, has been hired to manage the city of Keller’s Community Development Department.

Elgin, who is completing a 10–year stint as a manager for the city of Plano, will oversee Keller’s planning, permitting, inspection and code enforcement efforts. Keller is located approximately 17 miles north of Fort Worth.

Sarah Junek, in the April 15 issue of the Keller Citizen, reported that Elgin is looking forward to applying his years of experience in Plano and managing a broader range of duties – inspections and code enforcement in addition to planning – in Keller.

"I really have been fascinated with the development that has occurred in Keller," Elgin told Junek.
