Outstanding alum tabbed
to produce videos for Internet

Robert Riggs, an Outstanding Alumnus of Texas A&M’s College of Architecture, has been named executive producer of new programming and development for Bobby Goldstein Productions.

Riggs, who received a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Texas A&M in 1971, has been recognized throughout the years as one of the nation’s premier television reporters. His assignments have included coverage of the White House, Capitol Hill, the Pentagon, the New York State Legislature and the Texas Legislature.

“Over the years I watched him achieve excellence in television journalism and am glad he is on our team," said Goldstein, BGP’s president. Riggs will be producing videos made for the social media environments of Google, Yahoo, YouTube, Flickr and Facebook.

During his television journalism career, Riggs has received the George Foster Peabody Award and three Alfred I. duPont Columbia University Journalism Awards, two of television’s top honors.

In 2003, Riggs covered the war in Iraq embedded with an Army air defense battalion.  Riggs' investigative reports on the cause of two deadly friendly fire incidents during the Iraq war were featured on 60 Minutes, and he later uncovered how billions of dollars worth of Iraqi oil was being stolen.
