Animation Xpress.com, a site that bills itself as “India’s first and only portal for Animation, VFX and Gaming,” interviewed Keith Klohn, a former visualization student at Texas A&M’s College of Architecture, about what it’s like to work at Pixar, the technical challenges he faces when animating films, and other aspects of the computer animation world.
Klohn, a technical director at Pixar, was among a team of animators who won a Visual Effects Society award Feb. 21 for their work in “WALL•E.” During his career in the computer animation industry, he’s also contributed to “Ice Age,” “Finding Nemo,” “The Incredibles,” and “Cars.”
“One of the greatest aspects of life at Pixar is the fact that I get to interact with not just my fellow technical directors, but also with all the other departments as well,” he said. “It's quite rewarding to be able to work with artists of all disciplines. I really believe this is what keeps the creative level so high.”
