Outstanding alumnus addresses audience
at San Francisco technology conference

Robert Riggs, an outstanding alumnus from Texas A&M’s College of Architecture told participants in a January 2010 technology conference in San Francisco that there’s “a growing demand for users to be connected to the Internet anytime, anywhere on any screen.”

Riggs, who earned a Bachelor of Environmental Design degree in 1971, was a panelist at a social influence workshop during the Emerging Media Conference sponsored by Wappow!, which hosts events for professionals interested in connecting with customers digitally.

He is the co-founder of frontpageTV, an online video startup based in Dallas. Riggs and his partner, Tony Wright, founder of the search engine marketing agency WrightIMC, produce online videos optimized to achieve high rankings on search engines and high visibility in social media.

Riggs, quoted in an article posted on PRWeb, told the audience, with social media, “we can get real-time indications of what is on our collective minds. Technologies that have increased the speed and immediacy of information have always changed the nature of the world.”

After graduating from Texas A&M, Riggs became one of the nation's top television reporters, winning a coveted George Foster Peabody award and three Alfred I. duPont Columbia University Journalism awards.
