Together, three Texas A&M College of Architecture professors edited the latest issue of Preservation Education and Research, the academic journal serving the National Council for Preservation Education. The scholarly publication features peer-reviewed articles focused on heritage conservation education, research and scholarship.
The 2010 issue of PER, published in spring 2011, was edited by Anat Geva, associate professor of architecture, Kevin Glowacki, assistant professor of architecture and Nancy Volkman, associate professor of landscape architecture.
The new PER also features two articles by other Texas A&M faculty: “Stone Walls, Cities and the Law,” by Louis Tassinary, professor of visualization and executive associate dean, and two collaborators, and “Hybrids on the Way to the Western Platform Frame: Two Structures in Western Virginia," by Michael O’Brien, professor of architecture.
PER is published to improve historic preservation education programs and further the NCPE’s mission — the exchange and dissemination of historic preservation education information and ideas.
The journal is included in the Avery Index to Architectural Periodicals, a list of journal articles on architecture and design, including bibliographic descriptions on subjects such as the history and practice of architecture, landscape architecture, city planning, historic preservation and interior design and decoration.
Instructions for submitting an article for publication in PER are available on the journal's web page.
