Sarel Lavy, assistant professor of construction science at Texas A&M, has been tapped to serve as North America regional editor of Facilities, a scholarly journal that contributes to the advancement of facilities management.
"It's the leading journal on facilities management topics," said Lavy, who is also associate director of the college's CRS Center.
Facilities, published by Emerald, an independent publisher of research, covers the multidisciplinary topics of people, property and process management expertise that underpin successful organizational functions in the workplace. The journal also monitors innovations in theory, tools, legislation, analysis techniques and applications of new ideas in the wide spectrum of facilities management.
In addition to focusing on facilities management, Lavy, who joined the Aggie faculty in 2005, is interested health care and education sectors, construction engineering, maintenance, performance, life cycle costs techniques and quantitative methods in facilities management.
He earned a Ph.D in 2006, a Master of Science in Civil Engineering in 2002 and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering in 1999, from the Israel Institute of Technology in Haifa.
