‘Homestyles of Rich and Gated’ website
features Applebaum’s Hollywood home

He’s the “Architect to the Stars,” designing residences for some of Hollywood’s biggest names, but the home of the Aggie architect was itself the subject of a recent online article and photo spread.

David Applebaum, who earned a Bachelor of Environmental Design degree from Texas A&M in 1984, has designed homes for Frank Sinatra, Bob Hope, Cuba Gooding Jr. and Diane Keaton.

On the website, “Homestyles of the Rich and Gated,” Applebaum opens the doors of his own Hollywood home to Francesca Bowyer, who writes and photographs the website’s features.

“Flanked by a modern building he calls his studio and retreat,” writes Bowyer, Applebaum’s home includes a “state-of-the-art kitchen that opens to a living area, one step below.”

“My wife and I love to cook; we vie as to who does the cooking,” Applebaum told the writer, adding that they also love to entertain at home.

The story and lots of photos of Applebaum’s home, can be viewed online at

Applebaum is also slated to appear in a new Bravo reality TV series, “Launch My Line,” which features 10 professionals, highly regarded in their field of expertise, who have always dreamed of having their own clothing line. The contestants are teamed with an established fashion designer and charged with developing a new fashion line.

At show’s end, one team will be declared the winner and a new clothing line will be launched.

The show has tentatively been scheduled for a December debut, but a firm premiere date has not been set. Details on the show are available on the Bravo website at http://www.bravotv.com/launch-my-line.
