Digital artist to discuss his work
in October at Geren Auditorium

Daniel Rozin, an artist, educator and developer working in the area of interactive digital art, will present a visiting artist lecture at 5 p.m. Oct. 24 at Preston Geren Auditorium.

Rozin will talk about his installations and sculptures that have the unique ability to change and respond to the presence and point of view of the viewer.

“In many cases the viewer becomes the content of the piece,” states biographical information on his website. “In others, the viewer is invited to take an active role in the creation of the piece. Even though computers are often used in Rozin's work, they are seldom visible.”

The Jerusalem-born artist has had solo exhibitions in New York and Jerusalem and been part of group exhibitions worldwide.

Rozin’s appearance, sponsored by the College of Architecture and the Academy for the Visual and Performing Arts, will be followed by a reception in the Langford B Exhibit Hall.

A viewer sees her reflection in Daniel Rozin’s “Peg Mirror” (2007). In the piece, 650 wooden pieces cut at an angle are controlled by a camera at the center of the mirror and activated by software authored by Rozin, who will be speaking at Texas A&M in October.
