As part of a curriculum and facilities review, administrators from Texas A&M's College of Architecture traveled to Europe in November to visit two popular study abroad venues for Texas A&M students — the Santa Chiara Study Center in Castiglion Fiorentino, Italy, and the Academy for International Education in Bonn, Germany.
It was the first time Jorge Vanegas, dean of the college, and Leslie Feigenbaum, assistant dean for academic affairs, had visited either site, said Elton Abbott, assistant dean for international programs and initiatives, who also visited the sites along with Larry Zuber, senior director of development at the college.
Zuber's presence, said Abbott, will help him effectively recruit funds for study abroad scholarships, now an area of added importance when the economic downturn is considered, since fewer students will be able to study abroad without scholarships.
