Joe Mashburn, an Outstanding Alumnus of the Texas A&M College of Architecture, is stepping down after 11 years as dean of the University of Houston’s Gerald D. Hines College of Architecture to concentrate on design.
“Design has always been in my life plan, and I think it's the time in my life that I do this, especially since I will be 68 years old next summer," he told Jonathan Harris of the The Daily Cougar.
Mashburn, who received a master’s degree in architecture from Texas A&M in 1982, served as an assistant professor and graduate design coordinator at Texas A&M’s College of Architecture from 1982-88.
