Brandon Vento, a third-year environmental design student at Texas A&M and his brother Coulton, a Kingwood High School student, have developed FlashPics, a free iPhone photo application that’s drawn raves from reviewers and an article in their hometown newspaper.
“This app is fantastic,” said reviewer Mark Hudson on the iTunes store site. “I find myself uploading more photos to Facebook and Twitter because this app makes it so easy.”
Brandon told The Tribune, which covers the Atascocita, Humble, Kingwood and Lake Houston areas, that he and his brother created the application out of frustration.
“Sharing pictures was a complicated and long process, and I was running out of space on my phone,” he said. “I got tired of having to delete pictures to make room for more music and vice versa.”
The Tribune’s Brittney Martin chronicled how the Vento brothers began making websites for local businesses, family and friends when Brandon was a freshman in high school. They now operate a web design and development company, TwoBros.
FlashPics also works on the iPod Touch and the iPad.
