Viz student's photo wins
‘Aggies Go Far’ contest

A photograph of senior visualization major Jill Bragdon sporting a “Texas Aggies Go Far” T-shirt in front of the Pantheon in Rome, Italy, recently earned first place honors in a study abroad photo contest sponsored by The Texas A&M Foundation.

For the “Aggies Go Far” contest, The Foundation asked students studying abroad to submit shots of themselves, adorned in the contest T-shirt, at foreign locations around the world. In turn, the shots were posted on The Foundation’s website where visitors were allowed to vote on their favorites.

Bragdon, a member of the Aggie Class of 2011 from Brownsboro, Texas, toured Italy, where her winning photo was taken, while studying at the Academy for International Education in Bonn, Germany. Her photo, which also included a map of Rome with the phrase “When in Rome” scrawled across it, garnered 449 votes in the contest.

Second place winner, Kyle Boehme ’12, an international studies/communication major from Beaumont, earned 254 votes with a photo taken in Granada, Spain while he was studying at University of Granada.

Suzanne Zieman '12, an international studies major from Dallas, earned third place honors with a photo taken in Nerja, Spain. Suzanne was also studying at the University of Granada.

Though he didn't place in the contest, Ben Decker '12, an environmental design major from Georgetown, submitted a photo of himself standing in front of the Leaning Tower of Pisa that was taken while he was studying at the Santa Chiara Center in Castiglion Fiorentino, Italy.
