Inaugural VizKids camp teaches youngsters
about computer animation, cinematography

Kids entering grades 7-9 got an introduction this summer to the world of computer animation and cinematography during the inaugural VizKids camp, hosted by Texas A&M's Department of Visualization.

Campers were immersed in hands-on sessions of 3-D character modeling, beginning computer animation, lighting and Google Earth mapping during the July 18-24 camp.

Sessions were led by Yauger Williams, assistant professor of visualization, Michelle Simms, a Ph.D. student in education, and Master of Visualization students Justus Cook and Austin Hines.
