Honors ceremony, graduation
wrap summer 2010 semester

 

Students who completed their studies at Texas A&M's College of Architecture during summer 2010 sessions were joined Aug. 13, 2010 by family and friends at the college's Graduation Honors and Recognition Ceremony at Preston Geren Auditorium.

The program recognized the college's newest doctoral and masters graduates, clad in academic regalia, as well as undergraduates who earned degrees with honors.

Three students earned doctoral degrees in Urban and Regional Sciences:

  • Shan Gao, whose dissertation was titled "The Amenity Value of Wetlands;"
  • Himanshu Grover, "Local Response to Global Climate Change: The Role of Local Development Plans in Climate Change Management;" and
  • Tongbin Qu, "Investigating the Effects of Freeway Congestion Thresholds on Decision-Making Inputs."

Later that afternoon, College of Architecture students took part in university commencement exercises.

The college awarded 41 masters degrees:

  • Master of Science in Construction Management, 26;
  • Master of Architecture, 7;
  • Master of Science in Land Development, 3;
  • Master of Urban and Regional Planning, 2;
  • Master of Landscape Architecture, 1;
  • Master of Science in Visualization Sciences, 1;
  • Master of Science in Architecture, 1.

During the ceremony, the college also awarded 53 undergraduate degrees:

  • Bachelor of Science in Construction Science, 29;
  • Bachelor of Science in University Studies, 9;
  • Bachelor of Environmental Design, 8;
  • Bachelor of Science in Urban and Regional Sciences, 3;
  • Bachelor of Science in Visualization, 3
  • Bachelor of Landscape Architecture, 1.

The ceremonies were preceded with an Aug. 12 convocation at Rudder Auditorium, which featured an address by former Aggie football coach R.C. Slocum.
