Sigma Lambda Chi induction
highlights 2010 CIAC event

Fourteen Texas A&M students were inducted into Sigma Lambda Chi, the construction management honor society, during the Oct. 29, 2010 meeting of the Department of Construction Science’s Construction Industry Advisory Council.

The council is composed of construction industry leaders and former construction science students who advise department administrators and faculty on contemporary construction issues and influence the department's strategic direction and course content.

In addition to recognizing outstanding students in construction, Sigma Lambda Chi has three objectives:

  • To render service to the construction science discipline by active student participation in tasks and events benefitting the construction science program;
  • To develop good relations among campus, industry and the public by undertaking projects that further this purpose; and
  • To recognize outstanding professional individuals in construction by bestowing honorary memberships.

Also during the fall 2010 meeting at the College Station Hilton, CIAC members heard presentations on faculty and student research projects.
