The final report for a conference at Texas A&M focusing on planning challenges facing Latino communities is now available online.
Latino Dialogo was a 2008 conference sponsored by the Department of Landscape Architecture and Urban Planning that brought together a diverse assembly of 110 participants whose overall aim was to contribute to the development of a local and national agenda of the American Planning Association's Latinos and Planning division.
“Within the next five years, Latinos are projected to become the largest racial/ethnic group in Texas,” said event chairwoman Cecilia Giusti, an assistant professor in urban planning. “The event provided a unique opportunity to focus on special issues and challenges accompanying this shifting demographic. The topic was intentionally broad to encourage the participation of everyone with an interest in the Latino community and its burgeoning influence on Texas.”
