Mann discusses student projects
at Malaysian healthcare meeting

Student designs for healthcare facilities created at Texas A&M received international exposure at a Nov. 29 – Dec. 1 seminar on public health in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

George Mann, professor of architecture, featured his students’ designs for health care facilities in Tanzania, New Orleans and Bryan in a keynote address, "Designing Accessible Health Facilities, Case Studies," to the International Union of Architects – Public Health Group.

A member of the PHG since 1974, Mann is the American Institute of Architects' liaison to the UIA-PHG.

The UIA-PHG believes that world public health can profit by the dedication of architects to provide efficient, safe and aesthetic health care buildings and an environment that can contribute to a more rapid healing of patients as well as an improvement in staff operations and satisfaction.
