Battalion features architecture students' designs
for equestrian facility serving the hearing impaired

 

The Battalion’s Feb. 21 edition featured a story on Texas A&M architecture students’ designs for Isaiah’s Place, a 40-acre equestrian facility serving the hearing impaired.

The student designs were unveiled at a Feb. 15 public presentation at the HKS, Inc. offices in downtown Dallas. The work included master plan and architectural design concepts for the facility, which is located in Whitney, approximately 70 miles south of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.

Senior architecture major Teri Whitney told The Battalion how she and her fellow students began to work on the project.

"They (the clients) presented a slide show to us explaining all their needs, their desires and their vision," Whitney said. "We met with them every week since then and basically said 'OK, this is what I hear you saying visually,' and so piece by piece, every week, we have put more stuff together.”
