Ulrich to present lectures at two major national healthcare organization venues

 

   

Roger Ulrich, holder of the Julie and Craig Beale ’71 Endowed Professorship in Health Facilities Design at Texas A&M University’s College of Architecture will present two invited lectures at natoinal healthcare conferences in Florida and Maryland this April.

Ulrich will deliver a presentation titled, “ Building the Hospital of the Future,” at the 17th Annual Scientific Meeting of the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of American (SHEA), slated April 14-17 in Baltimore, Md.

The SHEA Annual Meeting is the premier scientific meeting for healthcare epidemiologists and other individuals working in the field of healthcare epidemiology. At the conference, SHEA 2007's expert international faculty will address healthcare epidemiology issues within plenary, symposia, workshop, and meet the consultant formats. The program will provide attendees with the very latest information, including cutting edge updates on new and emerging issues such as avian influenza, problematic outbreaks, and cost-effective infection control.

According to Ulrich, his will be the first architectural presentation to be delivered to this group.

April 26 – 27, Ulrich will travel to Lake Buena Vista, Fla. to deliver a plenary presentation at a national symposium, “The Hospital of the Future: Strategies for Driving Organizational Transformation,” sponsored by The Joint Commission and Joint Commission Resources, an affiliate of The Joint Commission.

The Joint Commission evaluates and accredits nearly 15,000 healthcare organizations and programs in the United States. An independent, not-for-profit organization, the commission is the nation’s predominant standards-setting and accrediting body in health care. The Joint Commission Resources is a global, knowledge-based organization that provides innovative solutions designed to help health care organizations improve patient safety and quality. An affiliate of The Joint Commission, JCR is the official publisher and educator of The Joint Commission.

The groups’ April symposium will examine the challenges associated with successfully managing far-reaching changes in the healthcare industry. Ulrich’s presentation is titled, “The Physical Environment: Issues Impacting Hospital Design.”
