Charles Culp, associate professor of architecture, will be a part of the Green Building Initiative's technical sub-committee. The Green Building Initiative is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to bringing green building practices to the mainstream and helping to accelerate the adoption of environmentally friendly building practices.
As a member of the technical sub-committee, Culp will help to qualify the Green Globes environmental assessment and rating system as an official standard under the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). ANSI facilitates the development of American National Standards (ANS) by accrediting procedures of standards developing organizations. These groups work cooperatively to develop voluntary national consensus standards.
