Scholarships totaling $23,750 were awarded to 16 Texas A&M architecture-for-health students at the Center for Health Systems & Design Awards Ceremony held Thursday, Jan. 25 in the Preston Geren Auditorium.

Attending the ceremony with faculty, students, family and friends were several representatives of the CHSD’s Healthcare Industry Advisory Council, whose firms significantly contributed to the scholarship funds.

Awards presented:

Jin Gyu “Phillip” Park was awarded a $5000 dissertation grant, the largest prize of the evening, by Nurture by Steelcase representative Patsy Jackson. Dissertation grants valued at $2500 were also awarded by Steelcase to Ph.D. students Zhipeng Lu and Xeumei Zhu.

Five travel fellowships worth $1,175 were presented by Herman Miller for Healthcare to graduate students Jie Ao, Ashley Dias, Clayton Merritt, Alejandro Iriarte and Hyung Jin Yoon. The scholarships are used to fund student trips to professional conferences. Herman Miller for Healthcare representative Josh Stiles presented the fellowships.

Five more $1,175 travel scholarships were presented by Natasha Rudis on behalf of the STERIS Corporation to graduate students Arijit Dutta, Rupa Kango, Ashish Kulkarni, Robert Linnstaedter and Soumtira Shende.
