Susan
Gordone, widow of the late Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Charles
Gordone, gestures as she explains the fine points and meanings
of various aspects of a sculpture inspired by the life of her husband,
particularly reflecting the Western influence that he embraced
after joining the theater arts faculty at Texas A&M. The sculpture
by Gordone's longtime friend, John Walker, also a former Texas
A&M faculty member, was to be formally unveiled Tuesday evening
during a special tribute to Gordone, who died nine years ago. The
artwork, will remain on display through Sunday at the J. Wayne
Stark University Center Galleries in Texas A&M's Memorial Student
Center. |
