Wei Yan, an assistant professor in the Texas A&M Department
of Architecture's Visualization Science program, earned "Best
Paper" honors at the Second International Conference on
Design Computing and Cognition held at the Technical University
of Eindhoven in The Netherlands, July 10-12, 2006.
His paper, “Geometric, Cognitive and Behavioral Modeling
of Environmental Users,” was co-authored with Yehuda Kalay,
a professor at the University of California-Berkeley. The theme
of the conference was “bringing artificial intelligence,
cognitive science, computational theories and advanced digital
technologies to design research.”
Yan's paper, along with other conference presentations, appear
in the book, “Design Computing and Cognition ’06,” published
